Benzoin Resinoid.
Benzoin Resinoid is a solvent extraction of the fragrant balsamic resin that flows from wounded Styrax benzoin trees in Sumatra. Our standard grade is Sumatra Benzoin — warm, sweet, vanilla-cinnamon-amber with a soft powdery tail — one of the most beloved fixatives in oriental, gourmand, and amber perfumery. Naturally rich in benzoic and cinnamic acid esters. The resinoid is a thick, honey-brown paste that dilutes cleanly in alcohol and DPG. Traditionally used in temple incense across Southeast Asia and in perfume compositions since the Renaissance.
